The Advantages
of
Friday/Sunday Weddings
Here is a simple
way to save money (I am all about saving money!) and time, to plan
your wedding with ease, and offer your guests a welcomed change
to the typical Saturday wedding. You'll reap all of the advantages
of such a logical and economical choice when you decide to have
your wedding on Friday or Sunday.
Consider
These Financial Savings:
Better prices
are offered by most banquet facilities, photographers, videographers,
DJ's or Bands, even limousine services, because Friday and Sunday
are viewed as "bonus" days when extra income to them
can be earned. These dollar savings to you all add up to make
this options a very wise consideration, without having to scrimp
on the quality of your wedding.
Because the
wedding ceremony is usually followed immediately by the reception
or dinner, you will avoid the extra cost and hassle of a one-to-two-hour
cocktail hour, again saving you money! Also guests are not, and
this is going to sound bad, your guests are going to expect a
dinner reception, with a Saturday wedding, I gave you fair warning!
I know that is awful to even have those words come out of my mouth,
but unfortunately they do expect something for attending your
wedding. And with a Friday or Sunday
wedding, you could easily do a great Sunday Brunch!
Keep in Mind
the Time-Saving Benefits:
Planning becomes
much easier as you will probably be able to reserve a church,
hall and music on the date of your choice. You will not be fighting
all of those other 'bride-zilla's" for the same Saturday.
Especially if you are trying to plan a wedding on the only Saturday
there is not a home football game in Gainesville.
Choosing a
Friday or Sunday date allows you to avoid all the calls to just
hear "Sorry Dear, we are booked on that date."
And restaurants
love doing rehearsal dinners on Thursday or mid-week evenings,
because those are slower times, for them. It would be a more relaxed
atmosphere, and the staff will be more attentive to your party.
Also keep in mind on Fridays some restaurants will close down
for your rehearsal dinner and that can come with a hefty premium,
you won't have to worry about that for your Thursday night dinner!
Opening up
presents can be done on Saturday, or Sunday. This would free you
up for at least one day of the weekend, and your family, friends,
and guests will appreciate the extra time more!
Honestly, and
I would not lie to you! More and more, Friday and Sunday wedding
dates are becoming an attractive, modern-day option, and for good
reasons. All in one decision, you can start off your marriage by
making a valuable choice to save money and reserve your valuable
time and energy. This is a welcomed changed of pace. Maybe you can
even leave for your honeymoon one-day early, trust me after all
of the events are over, you will want to leave as soon as possible!
And with all of the money you saved, you can afford to take an extra
day!
